All about the Museum of confiscated art in Belarus
This small museum is located on the border of Europe and Belarus – tiny city Brest. In the Soviet time, Brest became prime destination for small and big art thieves to smuggle art objects across the border. But thanks to the customs service a lot of artefacts where saved from disappearing in the black market and now they are displayed in this museum. There are more than 300 pieces and you will find here everything from ancient artefacts from the 16th century to the modern art objects, historic bibles, religious triptychs, Soviet sculptures and paintings.
